The University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute (EDI)
The University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute has provided advanced-level training to more than 2,000 economic development professionals over the last 35 years.
Offered in Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, and San Diego, it consists of 3 one-week sessions of instruction and research. Most students complete the program over three calendar years, but this schedule can be accelerated by attending courses in multiple locations. Each of the three sessions allows you to choose from a variety of core and elective courses.
Please note: Completion of IEDC's Introduction to Economic Development course or a Basic Economic Development Course is required to enter the EDI.
Course hours in a single subject area taken at EDI may be used as fulfilling the requirements for the CEcD exam. Graduation from EDI is not a requirement to sit for IEDC's certification exam.
If you would like more information on the EDI, you can e-mail them directly at edi@ou.edu.
The EDI is offered by the University of Oklahoma's College of Continuing Education, Center for Business and Economic Development, in association with the College of Business Administration.
