Arizona

The City of Phoenix's Central City Administrator within the Division of Community and Economic Development is responsible for promoting and implementing central city redevelopment.


The Greater Phoenix Economic Council works with business leaders and local governments from throughout the greater Phoenix area to ensure sustainable growth and development that will benefit all residents of the region.


Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc. (TREO) provides information to companies relocating to the region and doing business with many of the high-tech companies located in southern Arizona.


Salt River Project is one of Arizona's largest electric utilities and water providers. SRP serves more than 670,000 residential, business, and industrial customers with electric power throughout a 2,900 square-mile area in central Arizona.


The City of Tucson Web site provides information on city demographics, businesses, public services, and contact names for various city government offices.


The Arizona Center for Innovation is the new business and high technology incubator located at the University of Arizona's Science and Technology Park in Tucson, Arizona. They offer entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers a place where they can turn good ideas into new technology companies.


The Tucson Electric Power Company is a vital part of the Tucson community. The company encourages employee involvement in the community, promotes responsible regional economic growth, utilizes local vendors, and initiates programs that are sensitive to environmental issues.

California

The City of Anaheim's Office of Community Development oversees business development and retention, job training programs, and neighborhood preservation and redevelopment projects.


The City of Berkeley's Office of Economic Development provides a wide array of services to the business, artistic, and institutional communities of Berkeley. Basic business assistance services include but are not limited to: general business information, business and development attraction, site location assistance, business retention, permit processing, and problem solving.


The Chula Vista's City Manager's Office is responsible for the overall administration of the City organization and for administering programs and policies adopted by the City Council, as well as overseeing the city Redevelopment Agency.


The Daly City Department of Community and Economic Development promotes growth in this Gateway to the Peninsula, a city located on the Pacific Ocean and just minutes from downtown San Francisco and the San Francisco airport.


The City of Davis is a unique university and residential community internationally known for its commitment to implementing progressive and innovative programs. The city has a population of over 52,000 and is home to the University of California at Davis, one of the nation's top universities for research funding. Davis is proud to house a number of biotechnology firms and other knowledge-based industries.


The Fresno Economic Development Corporation seeks to diversify the economy of Fresno County and strengthen local services through the attraction of new companies and the expansion and retention of existing companies in base industries.


The Entertainment Industry Development Corporation provides services, solutions, and answers to the varied challenges and questions that are raised when filming in the real world. While the EIDC provides services to the entertainment industry, it also works hard to enhance the positive aspects production activity will have on a community.


Healdsburg is a small town with the best qualities of turn-of-the-century America, yet the ambiance of a European countryside. Tucked between three lush valleys and surrounded by over 60 wineries, Healdsburg is nestled in the heart of the wine country, only 65 miles north of San Francisco on Hwy.101.


The Kern County Community Development Department works to develop viable urban communities in the neighborhoods and communities within the County's entitlement jurisdiction of unincorporated Kern County and the incorporated cooperating cities of Arvin, California City, Delano, Maricopa, McFarland, Ridgecrest, Shafter, Tehachapi, and Wasco.


The Long Beach Community Development Department seeks to actively enhance and maintain housing opportunities in the City and to promote quality neighborhoods and a strong economic base for the City and all of its people.


Located between the rolling foothills of California's Coastal Range and the majestic Sierra Nevada range, Modesto offers a scenic entrance into the beautiful Central Valley. Modesto is 77 miles south of Sacramento, 75 miles east of San Jose and the Silicon Valley industrial area, 91 miles southeast of San Francisco, and 316 miles north of Los Angeles. The city is intersected by State Highway 99, which runs south and north through the length of the valley.


The mission and goal of the Oakland Business Development Corporation is to assist the City of Oakland to create a positive and supportive atmosphere for small businesses. The primary mandates for the program delivery are to: increase the opportunities of economically disadvantaged residents, provide economic benefits through entrepreneurial development and business ownership, promote the creation of job opportunities through business development, provide technical assistance to Oakland-based businesses, support the goals of the City of Oakland and its policies toward small businesses, and facilitate community networking to develop broader public-sector partnerships.


The City of Pico Rivera is an 8.4 square mile community with large areas of stable residential neighborhoods, many with residents who are both pro-business and provide an excellent labor pool. The City's Economic Development Program, which includes the services of a Business Liaison to work directly with business people in order to better serve their needs, supports both industrial and commercial enterprises.


Situated at the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers, Pittsburg, California is a city of both progress and promise. Landscaped parks, recreational facilities, shopping centers, and public schools are all indicators of a thriving community attuned to affordable housing and planned business and commercial development.


The San Bernardino County Economic and Community Development Department works to diversify and enhance the economic base of San Bernardino County, and provide county residents with an excellent quality of life.


For users interested in Sacramento, the city of Sacramento Office of Economic Development provides information on local demographics, facilities and site location, assistance in obtaining permits, and financial and technical resources. This office also develops and administers a number of programs designed to support small businesses and retain and recruit major employers.


The San Diego Regional Technology Alliance (RTA) is a non-profit corporation that assists San Diego's high-tech industries. The organization's primary goal is to empower businesses and entrepreneurs to develop emerging technologies with San Diego resources.


The San Diego Workforce Partnership works with public and private organizations to provide a cost-effective job training system that addresses employers' needs and ensures the existence of a skilled, productive workforce to support a healthy economy throughout San Diego County.


The San Joaquin County Partnership is a not-for-profit economic development corporation that assists business and industry locate into San Joaquin County, California.

The Santa Cruz Redevelopment Agency works to foster economic development programs that provide diverse opportunities for stable, meaningful work at livable pay, meet the retail and service needs of residents and visitors, create a strong municipal taxbase, preserve environmental quality and enhance the character and quality of community life.


The Stanislaus County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDCO) is a non-profit corporation committed to strengthening the economic base and employment opportunities in Stanislaus County. Through its various departments and programs, SCEDCO assists new and established businesses.

Colorado

The Aurora Economic Development Council is a non-profit organization that provides economic development services to the eastern portion of metropolitan Denver. The Aurora EDC provides existing and potential area businesses with information on available facilities, demographics, business activities, and enterprises.


The Economic Development Action Partnership promotes business growth in the city of Greeley and Weld County Colorado by assisting new companies reduce development and startup costs.


Fort Collins is situated at the eastern base of the "Front Range" of the Rocky Mountains, approximately 65 miles north of Denver and 45 miles south of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The city is home to Colorado State University, and its strong and diversified economy has resulted in an unemployment rate often below national and state averages.


The Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation is a private, nonprofit corporation, serving primary employers (those that sell goods and services to customers outside the community). Quality employers who contact the Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation tap into a broad network of organizations ready to provide the bottom-line benefits of doing business in the Pikes Peak region.


The Longmont Economic Development Association works to enhance the economic well being of Longmont by actively supporting the creation and preservation of quality, primary jobs.


The Pueblo Economic Development Corporation, a private, not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to the promotion of the Pueblo area to businesses and industries considering expansion or relocation. Pueblo actively seeks new growth and development in order to expand and diversify its economic base and create more and better jobs for its citizens. PEDCO, the agency which accepts this challenge on behalf of the community, was created and is supported by more than 200 area businesses and individuals, all of whom realize that a secure economic future depends upon the opening of doors to new employers.

Nevada

The City of Henderson Web site provides users with information on a variety of economic development incentive programs offered by the state of Nevada. The site also outlines the activities of the redevelopment agency, taxes, utilities, industrial parks, and the city's economic development department.


The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada supports business growth in the Tahoe/Reno/Sparks area of Nevada. Growth in this area over the past decade has resulted in a diverse landscape of industries such as telecommunications, computers and electronics.

Oklahoma

Duncan, Oklahoma, conveniently located between Dallas Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City, leads the way in innovative economic development programs and in job growth by focusing on those things that encourage business expansion. The Duncan area is served by strong financial institutions, including six banks and four credit unions with assets of $718 million.


The Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce works with civic leaders, the business community, and local government to foster an entrepreneurial environment and economic diversification.


The Tulsa Chamber of Commerce provides many benefits to its member businesses, including economic and legislative reports, and SBA loan assistance.

Texas

The colleges of the Alamo Community College District, Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, St. Philip's College, and San Antonio College, reached a record enrollment of 39,667 credit students in the spring of 1998. An additional 20,000 students take continuing education courses, making the district the third largest in the state and the tenth largest in the nation.


The Concho Valley Council of Governments (CVCOG) is a voluntary association of local governments in 13 counties organized in 1967 under authority granted by the Texas Legislature in 1965. The Concho Valley Council of Governments service area includes the counties of: Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, McCulloch, Mason, Menard, Reagan, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, and Tom Green. Membership includes all thirteen counties and fifteen cities in the service area.


The Dallas Office of Economic Development works to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Dallas through the encouragement of investment and tax base growth by regulating development, transportation, and creating and retaining jobs in diverse industries, resulting in the creation of an adaptive and resilient economy for the future.


The Farmer's Branch Economic Development Office focuses on attracting new business to the city, and retaining and promoting existing business by developing programs and providing services that will help them increase in profitability.


The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Web site has information on Fort Worth business, industry, cultural events, and entertainment activities.


Centrally located between Dallas and Fort Worth, Grand Prairie has easy access without big city congestion, and 40 percent of Grand Prairie land remains for development. Just a few miles north, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport, the second largest airport in the world, is a link to any major U.S. or international market. Interstates 30 and 20, State Highways 360, 180 and 303 and streets facilitate travel in and around Grand Prairie.


The Greater Houston Partnership is the umbrella organization for the Houston region's Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Council, and World Trade Organization. Those three organizations merged in 1980 to form one of the strongest business advocacy organizations in the U.S.


The Lubbock and the Reese Facility is a business-friendly community which is environmentally clean, and has superior infrastructure, recreational, and community facilities.


The Lufkin Economic Development Corporation is a 4B economic development sales tax organization whose mission is quality job creation and the enrichment and diversification of the Lufkin / Angelina County economy. The largest City between Tyler and Houston and located equidistant to both, Lufkin is the industrial, healthcare, retail, and services HUB of Central East Texas. The Lufkin EDC has a sister organization that is privately funded representing all of Angelina County “The Lufkin / Angelina County Economic Development Partnership”. These two organizations work hand in hand and share the same staff to promote quality growth in Central East Texas.


The Mission Economic Development Authority (MEDA) provides services and assistance to businesses and industries interested in the city of Mission. MEDA oversees the Mission Expressway Industrial Park, a fully developed 160-acre industrial park, which has been planned and constructed to provide industrial clients with superior accessibility and utilities.


North Harris Montgomery Community College District is a critical link for economic and workforce development in northern metropolitan Houston and in Harris and Montgomery Counties, improving the prosperity of the region through partnerships with business, government, and community organizations.


The City of San Antonio Economic Development Department creates special incentive programs designed to stimulate business growth and job creation within the city.


The San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, a non-profit organization, was created to facilitate businesses relocating or expanding in the San Antonio area. Through this site, users can obtain data on local economic statistics and trends, and relocation assistance, as well as data on the local labor force.


To encourage location and expansion of out-of-state companies to Texas and increase the competitiveness of Texas businesses, the Texas Department of Economic Development (TDED) offers many innovative business incentive programs. These include the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC). Commerce also provides a one-stop shop for information and assistance on business services, international trade and exporting, defense transition, and tourism destinations.

Utah

Cedar City is located in the foothills of South-Western Utah along Interstate 15, 270 miles south of Salt Lake City and 170 miles north of Las Vegas. Known as The Festival City, Cedar City is home to the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Utah Summer Games, and Southern Utah University.


Mountain West Small Business Finance is a private nonprofit company licensed by the U.S. Small Business Administration to assist in the growth and expansion of successful small- and medium-sized businesses in Utah by providing favorable long-term financing.


The West Valley City Department of Community and Economic Development promotes the retention and expansion of business and industry in West Valley City, with the ultimate goal of sustaining a vibrant economic and community base.
