What types of membership are available?
IEDC membership is organizationally based. Individuals are members representing their organization. However, IEDC does offer individual memberships for students, members who have retired or are in between jobs. Please click on the link for membership categories and dues structure.
When will my membership expire?
Your membership will expire on the anniversary of your join date if payment for renewal has not been received. If you have questions about your membership status, please contact our Membership Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or (202) 223-7800.
When will I receive my new member kit, along with my username and password?
You should expect your new member packet in the mail within three weeks of your membership being processed. You can access your username and password and membership benefits online once your application has been processed by going to log in to IEDC website.
Will my membership information be kept confidential?
Membership information collected by IEDC remains confidential. Your email or postal address may be sold or shared with our partners for marketing purposes, but you can opt out of having your addresses shared at any time by contacting our Membership Department.
My previous employer was a member of IEDC, but my current one is not. Does my membership transfer to my new organization?
If the organization that you are leaving paid for the membership, it may not be transferred over to your new place of employment.
I am currently in between jobs. Is there a membership category that would apply to me?
If you have previously been a member of IEDC and find yourself unemployed you may be eligible for the Member-in-Transition rate of $120. Upon renewal, the following conditions apply:
• If you have not found a job, you may renew as a member in transition.
• If you become employed during this time, you must inform IEDC and rejoin with your new employer.
I am retired and no longer active in the economic development profession. May I still be a member?
Yes! The Retired Member category is $100.
I am currently a student. What types of documentation are acceptable to IEDC as proof?
The most convenient form of documentation is a photocopy of your current student ID. You can include this photocopy when you send us your application. If you are a Student, Member-in-Transition or a Retired Member you must be pre-qualified by membership (firstname.lastname@example.org or (202) 223-7800) and may not join online.
