Mr. Brown is a consultant in economic development, community development, leadership development, and redevelopment/revitalization. Prior to forming his consultancy practice in 2010, Mr. Brown 's most recent professional position was as faculty in the University of Georgia's Public Service and Outreach division. Throughout his tenure, he provided consulting and educational services to economic development professionals, business and community leaders, and regional organizations. His principal interest in traditional economic development is broadened by interests in redevelopment and environmentally-related opportunities for community improvement and by competitive positioning of a community and its workforce for "jobs of the future." Mr. Brown has provided volunteer leadership and technical expertise to numerous organizations including the Georgia Economic Developers Association, Georgia Downtown Association, the National Brownfield's Association, and the International Economic Development Council. Mr. Brown holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and he is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute. He has been a Certified Economic Developer since 2003.

Jeffrey McKay is the Executive Director of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA). Mr. McKay has worked in economic development for almost 24 years. Before joining NESA, Mr. McKay was the Director of the Greater Statesville Development Corp. Mr. McKay was a former Chairman of the North Carolina Economic Development Advisory Committee, as well as former President of the North Carolina Economic Developers Assoc. As a member of The International Economic Development Council (IEDC), Mr. McKay is a Certified Economic Developer. Mr. McKay attended Western Carolina University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Decree (1985) and a Masters in Public Affairs (1991). Mr. McKay currently serves as Secretary of the South Carolina Economic Developers Assoc.

Mr. Sumner is currently the Senior Economic Development & Tourism Coordinator for the Department of Economic Development and Tourism. He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Aviation Administration from Fairmont State University in Fairmont, WV. He is a graduate of the 37th Annual Basic Economic Development Course from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA.

Adam's past employment experience includes Senior Economic Development Officer for the City of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency in Las Vegas, NV and was the Vice President of Marketing for the Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Complex, Inc. in Bridgeport, WV. Adam brings a wealth of experience in business retention and expansion, real estate development and project management. Throughout his career Adam has a proven track record of completing job retention and job creation projects of all sizes.

Adam is a member of the International Economic Development Council and a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council. Additionally, Adam serves on the IEDC Education and Certification Advisory Board.

LaDene Bowen's passion is community-based economic development. As Associate Director for the Institute for Decision Making (IDM) at the University of Northern Iowa, an integrated business and community services program, she has consulted hundreds communities in all aspects of economic development in the West and Midwestern states. She is a listened-to provider of sound technical assistance and professional advice. Her community and economic development career spans over two decades and includes international and national speaking engagements, authoring of articles, directing the Heartland Economic Development Course, mentoring and teaching at the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute (OU/EDI). She was recently named Dean of OU/EDI and a finalist for Iowa Women of Innovation by the Technology Association of Iowa. The scope of her professional involvement and leadership reaches from IDM and Iowa communities to the International Economic Development Council, where she served on the Board of Directors for the past 12 years. Bowen is a 1990 graduate of Institute for Organizational Management at the University of Colorado and retains her IOM designation. Bowen earned her CEcD (certified economic developer) designation in 1993. In 2005, she was recognized as a fellow (FM) for her outstanding service to the field of economic development.

Tom Cole was appointed to serve as the Economic Development Administrator for the City of Raytown, Missouri in November 2009 and hosts nearly 20 years of economic development experience having served as executive director, vice president and regional director of some of America's most successful economic development and construction management firms. He has been instrumental in the creation/retention of nearly 11,000 jobs and $1 billion of new capital investment in the Kansas City area since moving to the region in 1995. Such success has been the result of consensus building and an unwavering commitment to teamwork. Solid partnerships with state agencies, regional development councils, governing bodies, chambers of commerce, real estate professionals, educational institutions and independent business owners have been critical in attaining such success. As Economic Development Administrator, Tom is committed to advancing the economic growth, development and redevelopment of Raytown to enhance the quality of life and economic well-being of the area through intense redevelopment initiatives. Tom holds both a Masters (MBA) and Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Northwest Missouri State University. Additionally, he earned the designation of CEcD from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in January 2001.

Elaine Hansen has served as the Director for the University of Minnesota Duluth Center for Economic Development (CED) and as Regional Director for the NE Minnesota Small Business Development Center (SBDC) since 2003. She plays an active role on committees and boards for economic development in the Northeast Region of Minnesota, the State of Minnesota, and also serves on the Education & Certification Committee and Chair of the Basic Course Director's Committee of the IEDC. The CED has hosted a Basic Course for 18 years. She is a certified public account (CPA) licensed in the State of Minnesota and in 2003 completed her Master's of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Minnesota. Prior to her work at UMD Elaine served as the Commissioner of Administration for the State of Minnesota, and as the Finance Director for the City of Duluth. She has extensive experience in the public and private sectors working with businesses of various sizes, and has continually worked to help entrepreneurs and businesses grow and succeed.

Tim Burg serves as the Executive Director/CEO of the Shawnee Economic Development Foundation, (SEDF), a position he has held since January 2009. From 2002 to 2009 Burg served as the Assistant Director for the Ponca City Development Authority, (PCDA), and as the Assistant Executive Director for the Economic Development Advisory Board, (EDAB) Burg served as interim director during the transition from a private-public organization, (EDAB) into the current stand alone public trust, (PCDA).

Immediately prior to joining the EDAB, he was the Director of Engineering for Via Christa Oklahoma Regional Medical Center, a 160-bed medical/trauma center in Ponca City. While serving in this position, Burg received national recognition by the American Society of Healthcare Engineers, (ASHE). Before joining Via Christi, Burg was the owner of T-N-T Construction Company, a general contracting company in Ponca City, which he successfully operated for eight years before selling the enterprise in 1999. Burg was recognized nationally for his design/build work. Among his past scope of responsibility was the operation of the PCDA Business Retention and Expansion Program, which was recognized as the 2006 Outstanding BR&E program in Oklahoma, by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and Governor Brad Henry. PCDA was also a recipient of the 2007 International Economic Development Council's Private Public Partnership Award. In 2008 his program and organization were honored by the Business Retention and Expansion International organization for their BR&E program.

Gayle Cooper, CEcD has 15 years' experience in the economic development profession. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and is a graduate of EDI and ICSC's University of Shopping Centers.

Gayle has been employed in economic development at the regional, state and municipal levels. Her positions with the Arizona Department of Commerce and the City of Goodyear provided solid footing for her roles as President/CEO of Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation and Executive Director of the Economic Development Group of Eloy (EDGE). She currently serves as economic development consultant to the northwest Phoenix community of Youngtown, Arizona. Gayle is a member of Urban Land Institute, ICSC and IEDC. She has served on several boards, including the Arizona Science Center, Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation, and Orpheum Theatre Foundation. She is a former President of the Junior League of Phoenix and a Leadership West (Class IX) graduate.

Jessica Erickson joined the Thornton, Colorado Office of Economic Development team in May 2011 as Business Retention & Expansion Manager, acting as the primary agent for the City of Thornton in addressing the needs and concerns of existing Thornton primary employers. Ms. Erickson has been an economic developer in the north metro Denver area for more than eight years and just prior to coming to Thornton was the President & CEO of a successful public/private non-profit economic development organization serving the City & County of Broomfield, CO. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix Colorado Campus. She also graduated from the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute and went on to achieve Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification in 2008.

With over 23 years experience in economic development, sales and business management, Allison Larsen has worked with a wide variety of communities (both rural and urban), regions and states for strategic planning and implementation. She applies her corporate experience to take economic development practices to a new level, helping communities capture positive attention. She introduces communities to innovative approaches and is an outgoing facilitator, delivering solutions to enhance communities' competitive readiness. Allison's experience in front-line economic development contributes to her success with Chabin clients. She understands the challenges of working with boards, managing staff and the expectations for measurable results. At the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County, she attracted and retained 6,000+ jobs. Previously, Allison was the Manager of Business Development & Marketing in Madera County where she successfully recruited 2,500+ jobs. Her corporate experience includes sales for Merck & Co., Inc. and managing an international distribution business. Allison is a graduate of OU EDI, a Fellow of the California Agricultural Leadership Program and holds a B.S. from the University of California, Davis. She has run eight half-marathons, enjoys golf and her two golden retrievers, Enzo and Tadich.

Ryan Sharp serves as CSER's Director providing leadership and management for the organization's activities, research projects, and staff. His responsibilities include research design, project analysis, community outreach, project management, business development, and resource allocation. He participates in all CSER research and consulting projects, produces signature publications covering various economic topics, and directly supports regional economic development efforts in Northern California. Mr. Sharp has experience in both the public and private sectors including work in the economic development, management consulting, and technical research arenas. He has developed a wide range of skills in the regional economics and economic development fields including economic and demographic analysis and forecasting; cluster and workforce assessments; market and feasibility analysis; econometric and input-output modeling; strategic planning and collaborative processes; and performance monitoring and evaluation. Mr. Sharp has a Master's Degree in International Affairs from California State University, Sacramento with a focus in public policy and administration; a designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council; a graduate-level certificate in Collaborative Governance from California State University, Sacramento; and a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations specializing in political and economic development from the University of California, Davis.
