Startups are essential to a community's economy. In addition to creating jobs, these new and young firms can help drive competition and encourage innovation. Many are able to achieve long-term success. However, a considerable number are forced to exit the market after just a few years due to regulatory barriers, limited support systems, and other variables. Economic development organizations are in a unique position to support the startups in their communities. Tune into this webinar to learn more about the role your EDO can play in assisting young firms. You will also hear success stories of startup accelerator and incubator programs.

The conversation will cover:

• Specific challenges and opportunities facing startups
• Tools for economic development organizations looking to support their communities' startups
• Case studies on collaborative efforts between EDOs, community partners, and startup businesses

Attend Web Seminars and Earn Recertification Credits from the Comfort of Your Office

We understand that CEcDs have a constant yearning to grow and improve their knowledge and expertise in economic development. Therefore, the IEDC web seminars have been approved as professional development programs for recertification. The web seminars provide a convenient and cost-effective online environment for economic developers to learn about cutting-edge research, techniques, and tools that are prevalent in the field.

CEcDs participating in a minimum of three (3) web seminars during a three-year recertification cycle can now earn recertification credits. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Marjorie Rose at mrose@iedconline.org.
