Ann Marie Miller is the Executive Director of the Dayton Community Development Corporation in Dayton, Texas. The Dayton Community Development Corporation is a Texas Type B Economic Development organization that was created in 1996 to provide economic development services to the City of Dayton and the surrounding area. Miller joined the DCDC Team in August 2019. Before accepting her position at DCDC, Miller worked as the Executive Director of the Buda Economic Development Corporation and as an Economic Development Consultant for the City of Uhland. Miller started her economic development career in 2005 in Ada, Oklahoma, where she served as the Vice President of the Ada Jobs Foundation.

Miller celebrated 15 years’ experience in Economic Development in July and was one of the youngest people, at the time, to receive the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation. Miller is a graduate of the William S. Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. Miller is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute as well.

Miller is originally from Oklahoma and is a registered Chickasaw Citizen. Miller was presented with the Governor’s Commendation in 1993, at the age of nine, for her work on the Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt for the Blind. The Oklahoma Federation of Business and Professional Women selected Miller as Oklahoma’s Young Careerist in 2008, and Miller went on to compete on the National Level. In 2015, Miller was selected as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Economic Developers by Development Counsellors International.

When not working, Miller enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, Baxter. Miller is an avid athlete, played semi-professional kickball, and enjoys running. Miller has completed numerous half marathons, four marathons, including Chicago, and one ultramarathon (50km) since 2018. She is currently training for a series of Spartan races.

Miller believes that while you may not be able to control everything that happens to you in life, you can control your destiny by determining your attitude about the situation. Miller credits her work ethic and positive attitude to her mother, who not only was a trailblazer in her time but valiantly fought cancer for ten years with the same positive attitude.
