Host an IEDC Conference

Recent host community leaders shared the following testimonials regarding their experience hosting the event, and IEDC offers to set up a meeting with past host committee members in order to learn more about their experiences, success stories and lessons learned.

The planning (for the event) brought our local communities closer together which will pay off in the longer term as regional collaboration becomes even more important. And it sure helps gain a bigger profile amongst economic development professionals!” - Mike Williams, General Manager, Economic Development & Culture, City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Host of IEDC 2017 Annual Conference

We continue to believe that Cleveland, Northeast Ohio and Ohio are strong regions for the profession. We would like to bring an IEDC Annual or technical conference back to Cleveland in the future.” - Joe Marinucci, President, Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Cleveland, Ohio, Host of IEDC 2016 Annual Conference

We jumped on the opportunity when it was offered to us. The IEDC Annual Conference is recognized for its excellence in programming and how it fully engages with the host community. Ready to host an IEDC Conference?

The below are links to documents which outline what IEDC looks for in cities and groups with regards to hosting a conference. The documents also outline the steps an economic development organization would take towards applying to host a conference.

Host areas benefit from the recognition and increased visibility which come as a result of economic development professionals visiting and learning from a community’s achievements. The host area also has the opportunity to make use of the expertise of the attendees to help improve its own programs or launch new initiatives for their community. Additionally, host economies benefit from the revenue derived from IEDC’s conference. Learn how to apply.

Please note, that the documents below are guides through the proposal process. The numbers and figures might change slightly throughout the approval process.
