Economic Development Journal Submission Procedures

Submissions are accepted throughout the year and are open to IEDC Members, as well as other economic development practitioners and academicians. Please write or call the editor to discuss articles prior to submission:

The Journal Editorial Board reviews all articles and determines which articles are accepted for publication. The author's name is removed from copies submitted to the Board. IEDC cannot guarantee publication in a particular issue. Articles that are accepted for publication are put into an inventory and published at the earliest possible date. Currency of material is taken into consideration.

All articles should:

• Be submitted as electronic files, and be approximately 10-15 double-spaced pages (2,500-4,500 words), excluding charts, tables, graphs, etc.
• Deal with specifics of substantive issues, rather than generalities
• Contain accurate, up-to-date factual information
• Suggest problems of implementation and how to overcome these problems
• Be written with general applicability outside the author's city and state (case studies are very effective)
• Make effective use of graphs, tables, and charts, with photographs supplied after acceptance for publication
• Be well-organized and structured with clear and coherent exposition

Note: We cannot accept articles that have been published or are slated for publication elsewhere. IEDC retains copyright and possession of all articles and associated materials.
