Recertification
The required number of credits to be earned for recertification is 8 points over a three year period. A maximum of 6 credits may be earned in a single year. ELED certified professionals will be able to earn points in three ways:
1. Mandatory Activity: IEDC Ethics Workshops – Once each recertification cycle
2. Level One (IEDC Activities): Earn 2 credits for any one of the following. A maximum of 6 credits may be earned with level one activities. A minimum of 4 credits is required at time of recertification.
- Attendance at an IEDC conference
- Participation in a minimum of three (3) IEDC webinars and/or pre/post-conference seminars on entrepreneurship-led economic development and allied subjects (BRE, tech-led, finance, etc.)
- Instruction at IEDC entrepreneurship training course
- Attendance at IEDC entrepreneurship training course
3. Level Two (National and Regional Activities): Earn 1 credit for any one of the following. A maximum of 4 credits may be earned through level two activities. A minimum of 2 credits is required at time of recertification<
- Speak at an IEDC conference on entrepreneurship-led economic development and allied subjects (BRE, tech-led, finance, etc.)
- Publication of an entrepreneurship related article in IEDC’s ED Journal or ED Now newsletter
- Serve as a grader/proctor for the ELED exam
- Attendance at approved national/provincial organization professional training on entrepreneurship support or entrepreneurship-led economic development, per submission and approval of application (e.g. professional training offered by the National Development Council - NDC). - Attendance at a recognized regional/state entrepreneurship support or entrepreneurship-led economic development conference or event
- Participation in entrepreneurship and/or small business development projects of IEDC, such as:
- IEDC Economic Recovery Volunteer Program
- Knowledge Management and Development (KMD) site-visit
- Hold a board member/committee position (either elected or nominated) for a national, state or local economic development organization, per year
- Instruct at a ELED exam prep course (barred from grading for 3 years)
