How did you enter the economic development profession?
My passion for local government inspired me to pursue the MPA program, focusing in economic development.
What is your favorite thing about working in economic development?
Just the fact that you can meet a business necessity makes me delighted. One of my tasks is business outreach. Getting in the community to understand business viewpoints and establish excellent relationships with businesses is my favorite part.
Tell us about the community or organization you represent.
Well, I represent a small community of 41000+ population with more than 2600 businesses. My community is also a home to multinational retail company Costco wholesale Corporation. Above all Issaquah is a welcoming community.
What makes your community a great place for business and people to thrive?
It's a terrific environment for business and people to thrive, in my opinion, because of its high quality of life and close proximity to key amenities.
Tell us about your favorite place/thing to do in your community.
My favorite place is Gilman Village. Gilman Village is a mixed-use complex with stores, restaurants, and personal services housed in historic buildings and structures from Issaquah. This place has everything you need and is a popular shopping destination.

What does economic development mean to you?
I believe Economic Development is a broad field. To me, economic development means attracting and growing businesses, creating and retaining jobs, and most importantly, making our city a better place to live.
