1. RSVP Now to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the CDBG Program with IEDC and HUD! | Join the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in celebrating 50 years of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program! HUD is hosting a CDBG 50th Anniversary Kickoff event on June 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM EDT to discuss upcoming celebrations, including events in Washington, DC, and throughout the country.

Attendees will hear from HUD’s Acting Secretary, Adrianne Todman, Community Planning and Development's (CPD's) Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Marion McFadden, and special guests on CDBG’s impact nationally.

The Community Development Block Grant program has supported communities across the country since its enactment by Congress in 1974. Join us and HUD in celebrating the accomplishments of this monumental program in person or virtually!

2. Are You Ready to Take the CEcD Exam? | If you're gearing up to take the CEcD exam in 2024, the final session takes place on August 9. 

On this date, candidates will be tested on the following (2) portions of the CEcD Exam:

  • Multiple Choice/Short Answer
  • Essay

Any candidates that pass both the Multiple Choice/Short Answer and Essay portions of the CEcD Exam on August 9 will complete their Oral Interviews between August 19-23, which will determine if they receive the CEcD credential.
