We are disheartened to learn of the passing of Kwame Botchway. His contributions to the development of equitable entrepreneurial ecosystems have left a mark on our communities and the broader entrepreneurial landscape. 

Botchway was part of IEDC’s Equitible Entreprenurial Ecosystem in, which demonstrated his commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth. By championing innovative approaches to community engagement and support for underrepresented entrepreneurs, Kwame has helped transform the entrepreneurial landscape into a more inclusive and vibrant space. His work will pave the way for countless individuals to access opportunities and resources that were previously out of reach.  

“I first met Kwame at the Federal Reserve, where we connected through our mutual work in entrepreneurship ecosystem building,” said Dell Gines, Chief Innovation Officer at IEDC, “I was thrilled when he joined IEDC's equitable development cohort, which gave us the opportunity to strengthen our relationship. Kwame was a beacon in the field—a passionate champion for economic equity. His loss will be profoundly felt both personally and across the economic development community." 

Botchway inspired many to follow in his footsteps and continue his mission of creating fair and supportive environments for all entrepreneurs. His dedication to addressing systemic barriers and promoting equitable access to resources has set a high standard for those of us working in this field.
