It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan Jorgenson, a valued and respected member of the economic development community. Her dedication and wisdom have left a lasting impact on our profession. 

In 1992 Jorgenson founded Jorgenson Consulting, considered one of the top executive search firms for nonprofit economic and community development organizations. She also served on IEDC’s board of directors from 2002 to 2007 and was not only a guiding force on the board but a cherished friend to many.
