International Economic Development Council Welcomes 16 New Entrepreneurship Development Professionals (EDPs)

IEDC is proud to announce a new cohort of certified Entrepreneurship Development Professionals (EDPs)! The EDP credential is designed to build capacity for those supporting entrepreneurship in their communities, and demonstrates the skills and expertise to steer communities through entrepreneurship-led economic development (ELED).

This certification is a clear reflection of their unwavering dedication to both personal growth and the advancement of their communities," said IEDC President and CEO Nathan Ohle. "As the largest membership organization for economic developers, we are proud to recognize these exceptional individuals for their skills in economic development and their continued commitment to enhancing economic vitality and quality of life in their communities.”

To earn the EDP credential, candidates must have two years of full-time experience in economic development, complete the necessary coursework, and pass the certification examination.

The EDP credential was developed with the support of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the U.S. Economic Development Administration, and in partnership with the University of Missouri-Kansas City SourceLink. The EDP credential is one of two designations offered by IEDCThe Certified Economic Developer (CEcDcredential is a comprehensive designation that tests applicants' general proficiency in economic development. IEDC has designated and recertified over two thousand CEcDs and over fifty EDP practitioners.
