At little to no cost, social media is the latest approach to link
your organization with its target markets. Whether you’re seeking to connect
with talented professionals, location consultants, citizens or former residents,
social media provides multiple channels to reach key audiences. Through these
platforms, economic development organizations can communicate, collaborate and
market by sharing news, photos, videos and stories.
Using multiple platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, YouTube, Yelp,
Digg, Flickr, or Second Life can seem daunting and time-consuming, but a
considered strategy will help you zero in on the most effective tools and
methods. By attending this IEDC web seminar, you will:
- Learn about new social media platforms
- Discover which platforms to use for different target audiences
- Hear innovative marketing strategies using social media

Ben Wright CEO Atlas Advertising
Ben
Wright is CEO of Atlas Advertising. Atlas Advertising helps economic developers
reach national and international prospect and site selection audiences. We
deliver branding, website development, GIS mapping, research, and creative
services professionally and with a staff experienced in economic development.
Unlike firms with little or no economic development experience, Atlas
Advertising uses a proven mix of economic development marketing tactics that
generate interest from site selection audiences. Atlas Advertising is led by a
former economic development practitioner and has worked with 50+ different
economic development clients in 30+ states.
Prior to founding Atlas Advertising in 2001, Ben Wright worked as a Director
of Strategy and Website Development for a San Francisco-based agency. He brings
this wealth of marketing and website knowledge into his company and all of his
client-interactions.
Ben chose to target Atlas Advertising at place-marketing because of his own
deep love for places, as well as marketing. Having traveled to four continents
and over forty U.S. states, Ben understands both places and those who choose to
live in or visit them. He applies this passion for places and knowledge of
people into Atlas Advertising’s very core, and, thus, into every project.

Attend Web Seminars and Earn Recertification Credits from the Comfort of
Your Office
We understand that CEcDs have a constant yearning to grow and improve their
knowledge and expertise in economic development. Therefore, the IEDC web
seminars have been approved as professional development programs for
recertification. The web seminars provide a convenient and cost-effective online
environment for economic developers to learn about cutting-edge research,
techniques, and tools that are prevalent in the field.
CEcDs participating in a minimum of three (3) web seminars during a
three-year recertification cycle can now earn recertification credits. If you
have questions or would like more information, please contact Kobi Enwemnwa at
kenwemnwa@iedconline.org.
About the Collaboration for Success Web Seminar Series
As many economic development organizations, have learned, it is impossible to
accomplish projects alone. By building strategic partnerships, economic
development organizations are able to be more competitive when working
collaboratively. This year, IEDC will present a series of web seminars entitled
Collaboration for Success.
