Why Well-Supported Initiatives Still Stall: A Masterclass in Readiness Sequencing for Economic Development Implementation

Online

Identify what must happen first to get a stalled initiative moving.

A strong strategy, committed partners, and available resources can coexist with an initiative that is going nowhere. Readiness sequencing helps you investigate why. In this applied learning lab, Sherrie Campbell guides you through the conditions and dependencies that shape implementation. Examine alignment, relationships, capacity, and decision points, then determine which actions are ready to advance. You will build a more deliberate pathway for using limited resources and stakeholder attention.

Inside the learning lab

Apply a readiness diagnostic to a real initiative or provided case. Work with peers to challenge your assumptions, identify unresolved dependencies, and translate your findings into a Readiness and Sequencing Action Map.

What you will gain

  • Distinguish resource constraints from readiness, alignment, relationship, and capacity barriers.
  • Identify the prerequisite conditions that influence implementation.
  • Sequence actions according to dependencies and readiness.
  • Develop a practical pathway showing what can happen now, what comes next, and what needs to wait.

What you will take back

A Readiness Diagnostic, Sequencing Decision Matrix, Readiness and Sequencing Action Map, implementation roadmap, and application guide for future initiatives.

Who should join:

Practitioners and leaders coordinating complex initiatives involving multiple institutions, partners, or resource commitments.

Bring an initiative that has slowed down and work out its next actionable steps.
