The Emeritus status allows an individual to continue using the CEcD designation without completing the recertification process every 3 years.

Any CEcD may apply for Emeritus status if they are fully retired and have either:

• 20 years of experience in the economic development field, or
• Have been certified for at least 10 years with IEDC.

To obtain this status, an individual must submit the following application and its processing fee along with their current resume.
