IEDC recognizes events of other organizations that support the networking and development of economic development professionals. 

An event must meet the following criteria to be recognized by IEDC:

• Be sponsored by a state or regional economic development association, an economic development agency, an institution of higher education, or by a national organization whose membership consists of 50% economic developers.
• Offer content that fosters the learning and development of the economic development professional.
• Include resources and practical “how-tos” for successful economic development programs, techniques, tools, and/or best practices.

For proper recognition to occur, the following application and any applicable processing fee must be received by IEDC at least 30 days in advance of the event.
