Kevin Dick, CEcD
Kevin Dick was named President & Chief Executive Officer of the Carolina Small Business Development Fund (CSBDF) in February 2020. Within the first twenty-four months of his leadership, the organization has responded quickly and aggressively to the needs of small businesses by providing financial assistance to over 1,300 small businesses throughout the State and deploying over $19M in loan and grant funds. During that period, CSBDF also assisted over 200 businesses with technical assistance and coaching. During a career in local government that spanned over two decades, as well as private sector experience in marketing and sales, Kevin has held senior positions with the City of Charlotte, City of Durham, the Durham Workforce Development Board, the Broward Workforce Development Board and the City of Dania Beach, Florida as well as private sector marketing and sales experience positions in New Jersey and Delaware. Accomplishments have included developing, implementing, and administering a variety of workforce development, neighborhood-based economic development, and small business capacitybuilding programs. Initiatives under Kevin’s leadership have been nationally recognized by the Alliance for Innovation, Progressive Planning Magazine, the National League of Cities, U.S. Conference of Mayors, Walmart Foundation, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Civic League. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business from Georgetown University. He has also been designated as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
Kevin currently serves on the boards of IEDC, Invest Appalachia, the NC Task Force for Offshore Wind Economic Resource Strategies (NC TOWERS) and the fundraising committee for the North Carolina Economic Development Association Foundation. He is a sought-after public speaker and has addressed international audiences on the subjects of community development financial institutions, equitable economic development and youth workforce development.
Originally from Montclair, New Jersey, he enjoys history, sports, music and spending time with his family and close friends in his spare time. He also volunteers with the Triangle Literacy Council
