Leonard L. Sledge
Leonard L. Sledge serves as the Director of the Department of Economic Development for the City of Richmond. In this role he leads job creation, capital investment, and economic growth for the City. Prior to joining the City of Richmond, Mr. Sledge served as the Executive Director of the Henry County Development Authority (Georgia), Director of Economic Development for the City of Hampton, Virginia and the Director of the Office of Economic Development for the College of William & Mary. His professional experiences also include advanced manufacturing management and community college workforce development. Mr. Sledge was named one North America’s top 50 economic developers of 2019 by Consultant Connect. Through the dual-degree engineering program, Mr. Sledge earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science from Morehouse College and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). He also received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Sledge is married to his college sweetheart, Dr. Tiffanye P. Sledge, and they have three children.
