Do you know which businesses in your community are most vulnerable in the current economic downturn? Have you been surprised by the closing or downsizing of a local business? Can some companies in your community help others stay afloat?
In the recession, knowing the condition of your local businesses is more important than ever. That’s why an effective business retention program isn’t just about gathering data – it’s about building relationships in which communities provide businesses with the resources and connections they need to succeed. The right approach can mean the difference between retaining jobs and losing them.
Join IEDC on November 17 to learn more about business retention and expansion programs in the economic downturn. This web seminar will teach you:
- What types of questions to include
- Which topics to cover
- How to conduct the interview

We understand that CEcDs have a constant yearning to grow and improve their knowledge and expertise in economic development. Therefore, the IEDC web seminars have been approved as professional development programs for recertification. The web seminars provide a convenient and cost-effective online environment for economic developers to learn about cutting-edge research, techniques, and tools that are prevalent in the field.
CEcDs participating in a minimum of three (3) web seminars during a three-year recertification cycle can now earn recertification credits. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Kobi Enwemnwa at kenwemnwa@iedconline.org.
