Outstanding Citizen Award

Description

This award recognizes a local resident who, while not formally an economic development practitioner, has significantly contributed to advancing economic development efforts within their community or region.

Eligibility

The nominee:

  • Must be a current resident of the community or region in which they have made a significant impact.
  • Is not a professional or formally trained economic development practitioner but has contributed significantly to advancing economic development efforts.
  • Must have demonstrated a measurable or meaningful impact on economic development within their community, whether through advocacy, leadership, or other efforts.
  • Should have played a key leadership role or served as an advocate for policies, programs, or initiatives that have advanced economic development and community growth.
  • Should show a sustained commitment to improving the well-being and prosperity of the community or region.

The application for this award consists of three parts as listed below.

Part II
Questions

 
  You must submit a response (250 words or less) for each question in order to complete the second part of the application.
  1. How long have you lived in the community or region where you have had a significant influence? How have you contributed to the advancement of economic development efforts within your community or region?

  2. In what capacity have you taken a leadership role in fostering economic growth or community development? How have you influenced others to contribute to these efforts?

  3. How have you advocated for or collaborated with local organizations, businesses, or government entities to drive economic development in your area?

  4. What tangible or measurable outcomes have resulted from your efforts in promoting economic development? How has your work positively impacted your community or region?

  5. How does your work reflect a long-term commitment to improving your community? How have you demonstrated ongoing dedication to the growth and success of the region?

  6. What are your goals or vision for the future of your community in terms of economic development? How do you plan to continue contributing moving forward?

Letters of Recommendation
