Eligibility
The organization does not have to be an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) to apply for this award.
Application & Judging Criteria
The application for this award consists of three parts, which are scored based on the judging criteria listed below.
 Part I General Data

You must submit the following details about your organization as the first part of the application.

 Part II Questions
|
You must submit a response (250 words or less) for each question in order to complete the second part of the application.
- Provide a brief description of your EDO including its history (including year created or founded), type (i.e., nonprofit, public-private partnership, governmental unit), general operations, governing body, internal personnel, geographical scope, and major stakeholders.
- What are the roles and responsibilities of your governing body in relation to the EDO's general operations?
- What opportunities (e.g., continuing education, succession planning, mentoring) are available to your EDO's internal personnel and/or governing body?
- How has your EDO been effective in furthering economic development in your community (outside of its general operations)? What services, programs, and/or initiatives offered by your EDO are most impactful? Indicate tangible results, intangible outcomes, any spin-off, and/or partnerships. Include metrics when possible.
- In what ways has your EDO demonstrated innovation or creativity with its services, programs, and/or initiatives?
- How does your EDO interact directly with community members? Do you hold community events, provide targeted marketing materials, distribute feedback surveys, or have other forms of engagement?
- What major obstacles/barriers has your EDO faced internally (e.g., personnel turnover) and/or externally (e.g., community opposition to a project)? How did you overcome them?
- Why do you consider your EDO worthy of an award?
- Are there any other relevant details not covered above or specific to your category?

 Part III Digital Supporting Documentation
|
You must submit the following documentation as the third part of your application.
- A viewable version of the EDO’s latest strategic plan.
- A summary of the EDO’s financial performance for the last eighteen months.
- Include at least two quotes from qualified representatives of the community at large.

 Judging Criteria
|
Your application will be reviewed by a panel of judges using the following criteria.
- Organizational excellence
- Evidence of ethical business practices
- Extent of the organization's impact on its community
- Commitment to the community and its members
- Digital supporting documentation provided as requested
