Description
Fellow Member (FM) status is conferred upon active IEDC members who have attained exceptional stature in the field of economic development and related disciplines. This “exceptional stature” is defined by significant contributions to the profession, through service to IEDC and/or academic achievements directly related to the practice of economic development.
Meeting the qualifications listed below does not guarantee that a candidate will be honored as a Fellow Member (FM); these qualifications represent the minimum criteria for consideration.
Eligibility
The nominee must have:
- At least 10 years of continuous membership in IEDC.
- A minimum of 10 years in the economic development field.
- Served at least 1 term as an IEDC board member, committee chair, or committee member.
- Achieved at least 2 of the following:
- Presented at an IEDC conference, Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC), or Economic Development Institute (EDI).
- Contributed case studies or data to IEDC research efforts.
- Authored a publication, either within or outside IEDC, advancing the field of economic development.
- Held a faculty, advisory, or leadership role in an academic institution related to economic development.
