Description

This award celebrates an individual’s lifelong dedication to economic development, honoring their profound impact on the field both nationally and internationally. The recipient embodies best practices and sets a benchmark for excellence beyond their local community.

Eligibility

The nominee:

  • Must have at least 30 years of professional experience in roles directly related to economic development, demonstrating sustained dedication to the field.
  • Must have influenced economic development policies, practices, or outcomes on a broader scale, extending beyond their local or regional scope.
  • Must have held key leadership positions, driving change through innovative strategies, programs, or initiatives that advanced the economic development field and set new standards.
  • Must have made significant efforts to define, promote, or implement best practices that serve as a model for others in the profession.
  • Must have inspired or directly impacted economic development practices, training, or outcomes in other regions, nationally or internationally.
  • Must be an active or former member of professional organizations dedicated to economic development, demonstrating a commitment to the profession’s growth and standards.
